David A Via

David was born on March 18, 1981 in Sleepy Hollow, New York. He was the son of Francis A. Via and the late Judith Fetter of Yorktown Heights, New York. He worked for the Federal government for several years as a computer programmer and for an independent computer company during recent years. After years of declining health, David died unexpectedly on January 18, 2022.

David graduated from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, with a BS in Computer Science in 2003, and from the Johns Hopkins University with a MS in Computer Science in 2006. David was a supporter of many charitable organizations and devoted his time, talents and treasure to the Maryland Food Bank, WALK to End Alzheimer’s, and Rotaract Club; and David loved singing in the Sage Chapel choir at Cornell.

David was married to his best friend, loving wife, supporter and cheerleader, Tara Diane Chapman on December 7, 2011, in Orlando, Florida. They were happily married for over 10 wonderful years and enjoyed traveling worldwide on many site-seeing and hiking adventures.

David is survived by his wife Tara; father Francis; brother Michael and his spouse Caroline, niece Kate, nephew Ben; In-laws Mark and Susan Chapman;

Rebecca and Ian Ross, nephew Declan.
