Charles Thomas Bolton, age, 68, passed away suddenly on Jan. 13, 2020 from respiratory failure after a severe bout with the flu. Charlie is survived by his wife, Jeanne Martin Bolton, daughters, Meghan Bolton, and Laura Schoch (Kevin), his son, Daniel Bolton, granddaughter, Ava Schoch, and his brother Stephen Bolton (Isabel).
Charlie was born on Dec. 11th, 1951 in Middletown, CT. He attended Southern Connecticut State College and attained a Masters degree in Public Administration from George Washington University. While working for the General Accounting Office, and later the Department of Energy, Charlie traveled around the world trying to secure loose nuclear material— making the world a safer place. As an elementary school classmate noted, he was the first die-hard Democrat she ever knew—starting in third grade—and that passion continued throughout his life. He could expound on almost any topic in politics, international relations, football, music, history and travel—and would at length given the chance. Most of all he loved his family. The greatest joy of his retirement was spending time with his family-- just hanging out—discussing the world, books, music, drinking good beer and enjoying a t-bone steak. His passing leaves a huge hole in all our hearts.
