Carol Burns

Carol Dian Burns of Columbia 84, drifted into the arms of Jesus in the same way she lived, quietly and gently on January 4, 2023. Carol was known for compassion and patience. She was a lover of strays, taking in many cats, dogs and sometimes people who needed a home. Known to many of her children's friends as 'Mom', all were valued and safe in her presence. An accomplished seamstress by trade, Carol worked for Head Sportswear for many years, London Fog and in her later years for Brook Taylor Interiors. She was a kind soul and a persistent optimist. She will be missed.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Elmer Burns and her son Jeffrey Burns along with her brother David Tear Jr.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Goucher (Joe) of Mt. Airy and Laura Glick of Scaggsville, her grandchildren Sarah Roberts (Daniel), Spencer and Benjamin Goucher, Ronald Jeffrey Burns (Jenny), Kenneth and Kurt Glick, her great grandchildren Noah, Liam and Isaiah Roberts, Aliah Burns and Daniel Castillo.

A visitation for Carol will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and Monday, January 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045. A funeral service will occur on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc. A committal service will follow on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at Columbia Memorial Park, 12005 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.
