Sending my warmest thoughts to your family during this time. While Brandon and I were not especially close, we had some mutual friends while at Notre Dame so we would run into each other at social events and the like. He always greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly handshake, asking how I was doing. Brandon was a kind soul and will be missed. My greatest condolences.

We are deeply sorry, Steve, for the lost of your beloved son Brandon. We did not have the joy of meeting him, but I worked with you, and I admired your dedication to the job and your work ethics. I am sure so were a wonderful and caring father, and Brandon was a happy son living with a family that cherished and love him so much.

There are no words, Steve, that can comfort losing a loved one, much worst if it's a son, and if he was that young, and so accomplished, and respected by his relatives and friends.

May God gives you the peace and resignation in these sad and difficult moments.

Brandon was a wonderful cousin. He gave me his undivided attention when we talked, making me feel special and seen. He made an effort to get to know me as a person, asking me questions about school, my interests and social life. That meant a lot to me as a teen and young adult who was trying to find her way. It's hard to believe he's no longer here. I'll remember him with great affection. 


I cannot describe how it feels to write this. I had hoped to tell him this in person in a few months at our ten year reunion. Brandon was easily the best of us. I went to college with him and our senior year of school we became good friends and he was the best of friends. He was a person that was there before you realized you needed him, bringing joy in the parts of your life you didn’t even realize were bathed in darkness. His zest for life illuminated so many of our paths and especially mine. 

Some of the best experiences of my life had Brandon if not near the center then nearby encouraging only joy. I tried the other day to name my favorite memories with a friend but was left at a loss at the shear number of memories that brought intense laughter  at the retelling. Brandon was the best. I sometimes studied with him (we were both chegs) and he was so much fun to study with. Not just smart and helpful but cutting and insightful and all around hilarious. He made everything he was involved with a study in joy. I lost touch with him after I graduated but I had always hoped to be able to tell him what a light he brought to my life in a period of my life that was intense for me. 

I cannot stop thinking of Brandon and what a loss to this world his absence means. His comfort when we were all so young and immature. I cannot even imagine what an indellible mark he left in those around him as he matured into his gifts. He is missed by all who met him and even more who had the pleasure to call him friend. 

Brandon’s life was full - with genuine friends and a close-knit family where he was able to bring out the best in us when we were around him and he did so by selflessly and generously giving us his most authentic self. 
My heart aches beyond words and I will miss him until my last day but the smiles, laughter, and tears we all shared while telling classic Brandon stories will live on in our hearts and so will our love and memories of one incredibly beautiful person.

I will miss hearing “hey gomo” or more like “oh my God, gomo” clearly exasperated by something I inappropriately said.

He was the best of us.

Simply the greatest kid who grew up to be the greatest guy. I don't recall a single family get together where the highlight didn't include Brandon. He was so welcoming to me, my wife and kids when we moved back to MD and I remember hanging out with him at the beach shortly after his college graduation. 

I still remember excitedly introducing him to my friend at my brother's wedding when he was maybe 4 years old. I said "this is the cutest kid ever, I held out my hand for a high five and said 'Hey Brandon'!" He stared at me for a second in his little suit and walked away leaving me hanging. 

But that was the only time he wasn't 100% welcoming and I'll forgive him since he was 4. He definitely contributed to more positive memories and brought more joy to his family and friends that most people would do in several lifetimes.


We are so sorry for Brandon's passing.  
Although so little can be said at this time of sorrow, hope it helps to know that many heartfelt thoughts are with your family.
