You were so proud of all of your VICA Skills/Skills USA students!!! You displayed tough love to make them become the best they can be💝

Vic,  you and Carol were the BEST neighbors that anyone could ask for!  We were sad when you moved to the mountains!  Thank you for all your help with projects and for your great sense of humor. Schiro (skee -row) how u had it in our classroom so kids would get it right lol 😂 I hate that your not here cracking a joke or forcing me to listen to ABBA or phantom of the opera (which I now love  by the way ) Gosh I was your side kick for 10 years (my work husband ) you taught me so much , 😭I loved how you picked on me but yet loved me whole heartedly like a best friend ❤️You were my best friend . We never missed each other’s bdays I looked forward  to our texts . I loved all the pranks , the whoopie cushion the Wet willies , our backwards clock in shop . You teaching me how to show the kids how to make pooper scoopers and how to weld . Earning my welding certificate as well . I loved loved loved being your assistant and love how you taught those boys and girls how to respect a me  ❤️We were mom and dad in metal shop . Funnest years of my life . Even when u drank apple cider vinegar in your water , made our whole office stink like salad dressing lol . I miss those fun days . I will miss you my Luciano Tuttuti . (Pavarotti) you always said that To me lol. Thank you for helping me build my little girl a play house and for making me shingle it lol . Her house was nicer then the one we lived in . I met Victor about 4 years ago on Facebook.  We were also DNA matches on AncestryDNA.  My mother was Victoria Schiro from New Orleans, and my grandparents were from Piana dei Greci,  so I knew we had to be related.  I enjoyed chatting with him from time to time, and I truly enjoyed all his witty Facebook posts.   We were in a few groups together, as we shared the same heritage.  He will be truly missed.  Prayers for your family.

   I first met Vic when we were one night roommates in a hotel in Temecula in the summer of 2001 or 2002 for a Bloomington High management retreat. He was soon to move on to Colton High and I would follow many years later.
   Vic was home at CHS and became the de facto historian of the old, venerable institution. Vic was also in charge of our  committee for disasters and emergencies and I worked with him on that for awhile. He drummed in “NINO”( the unfortunate but necessary nobody in, nobody out) but let’s just say he was prepared to save as many as possible, he was determined and disciplined to serve as many as possible and was a dedicated man of deep concern for the school we worked at together. 

I worked closely with Mr.Schiro at Colton High School.  I  in the Business Office he the Assistant Principle for many years. Mr. Schiro was always fair, honest, kind and easy to talk to about any problem . Always had a joke and a smile. He was a true leader for staff and a great role model for students.                                                                 After  he retired we got together on a monthly basis for dinner and good times. I will really miss you, the get-togethers,  and the good times.

I met “Vic” in 1976. We were both attending Cal Poly Pomona when a mutual friend introduced us. Not only was he attending college full time but he was working for the railroad! He was also busy on the weekends with band practices/performances and taking private pilot lessons ( he eventually bought a plane). 
We lost touch and reconnected on Facebook 40+ years later. It took us awhile to catch up
On what had been happening in his life because he had so many humorous stories to tell…mainly about his family and his experiences at Colton High School….I am so sad to read about his passing but feel blessed that we were able to reconnect so many years later. My condolences to you Carol (he always said you were his best friend), to Lisa and Chris and his brothers. 

  “Here, hold this” became a catch phrase for our family after a trip to Chattanooga for a softball tournament with Vic & Pat Poerr. We were on an underground cave tour when Vic asked Pat to hold a rock for him just after the guide requested we not touch anything. The guide discovered Pat with the rock & chastised her in front of the group which made Vic walk away with laughter tears in his eyes.
  Vic was a man who exemplified a love of life. He was a jokester with a positive attitude. His family was very important to him as evidenced by the time he spent with them & support he showed them.
  Teaching was a second career for Vic which he enjoyed. Vic taught industrial arts which allowed him to use his construction skills & tools to help his students. He also took them on out-of-state competitions. Later Vic would get a master’s degree & become an administer.
  My husband & I enjoyed being with Vic & Carol at softball tournaments where our daughters played. Later we were invited up to their mountain home, which they built from the ground up, and were able to attend Lisa’s wedding. It was a beautiful, peaceful setting with great friends. I will miss Vic!

As my little brother. You will always be my go to person. Each day I will always  be thinking of you.
The most recent tribulation Barbara and I are going through with cancer. You always pick up the phone to call us to see how wer'e doing.
You always would tell me. " I'm praying for you guys".
 When I became cancer free. You were just as excited as I was.
I know you'r looking forward to seeing our Mom and Dad again. I can remember the conversation we had about Mom always wanted a little girl. Mom had a miss carriage between our birth. It turn out the baby was a little girl. We always talked about seeing our sister in heaven. What a thrill this moment will be, when your introduce to her.

Victor—a man filled with warmth, charisma, and welcoming energy—could find light in any experience, make an entire room belly laugh, and have consequential heart-to-hearts with both those he loved and complete strangers. He illustrated to those around him just how much happiness and weight could be found in the seemingly unimportant conversations; I know I will try to live as present in those moments of simplicity as possible because of Vic. Thanks for all the good laughs, moments of comfortable silence, and great conversations—you will be enormously missed by all of those you touched.

Victor  taught me how to catch a ball. We always played softball together. He always worked for his family. He is so kind, loving and took care of kids and family. He also loves his popcorn. 

I had the wonderful opportunity of getting to meet Victor at one of our first Piana deli Albanese reunions. We have a Facebook group of people whose relatives descend from that village and through that got to know him better. But it was his funny jokes and posts on Facebook that made me smile on nearly a daily basis. If I was having a bad day I could always count on him posting something funny that would make me smile and it’s so appreciated. So happy to have met this wonderful soul. Prayers for your  family during such a difficult time. I’m so sorry for your loss . 

Mr. Schiro was my boss for many years.  He was the best boss I ever had.  We became friends right away.  I could tell him anything.  He was a caring and very generous person. I will cherish all those memories forever.  He always had us laughing and had great stories to tell. He touched so many lives and was especially caring to our Colton High students, parents and staff.  When I retired a few of us would go out to dinner. Our monthly dinners will never be the same. I am going to miss our texting and his humor. RIP my dear friend!! Sending condolences to the family!!

I met Victor about twenty years ago at his aunt's birthday party.  I thought he had a "crackling, charismatic" personality and was a great listener.  He was curious about the actor;  Lee Van Cleef, who made westerns in Italy.   I got such a kick out of Victor saying, "He was going on Ancestry.com to find out what nationality he was." I told him, "Save your money, kid! You are Italian."

Victor got a lot of us through the year long pandemic, when we were housebound. I can remember logging onto Facebook many times a day just to see what funny memes, jokes and videos Victor would post on his Facebook page to entertain us. 

My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends, students, co-workers and family.

always said you were here on earth for a purpose to serve others, give hope, make a difference in the human kind one person at a time, always sharing your amazing sense of humor,& always lended a hand to so many people to make them better. Even when you were hard on us you learned how to be the best you could be to support & love us. When it was time
your next chapter on earth you receive "The - " Then begin your new life!!

No words can truly explain how much you mean to me and other people. I know in my
heart this is not the end as I will see you again and until then I will continue to use all my tools that you taught me to love unconditionally, work hard, support others, & the list goes on. I promise to always be the best I can and I know that you are always with all of us!! We would end our conversations with love you,
promise, mean it. You make me proud!!! We would check in and what was going on in our lives and made sure we always stayed connected with our loved ones. 
To everyone that my dad has connected with in all the chapters of his life I thank you for being apart of his
story. Love one another in a world filled of so much hate and yet beauty!!

Vic was one of the most talented educators that I have ever worked with. He had the enthusiasm, charisma, and dedication that are hard to find in educators today. Your friendship will be forever missed. Rest in peace friend until Jesus 2nd coming!
