Norman Dean “Norm” Needles of Woodland went to enjoy a place at the table with Jesus Christ, family and friends on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Born Feb. 25, 1940, he was 82 years old.
Norm grew up in San Bernardino, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Navy from April 1962 to July 1966, mostly on the USS Midway as an electronics technician with Attack Squadron 23. After the Navy he worked at General Dynamics. He lived in both San Bernardino and Colton.
Norm loved the outdoors and enjoyed many hikes in the nearby mountains and the foothills near his home. He was also an avid cat lover and welcomed many into his Colton home.
He is survived by niece Becky (and Tony) Marigo; nephews Aaron (and Linda) Needles, Andy (and Lisa) Needles and Dan (and Allison) Needles, and their children; as well as Tom and Sue Gossard of Davis; and Deanna Needles and Ava Daniels of Olympia, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents Al and Margaret and his brother Howard.
His family in Davis was fortunate to spend the last four years closer to him as he moved to Woodland in 2017. We appreciated his unique perspective on the world and his sense of humor and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his honor can be made to Paul’s Place of Davis.
