Quite A Hero
by Anonymous
My Hero is the quiet type,
No marching bands, no media hype,
But through my eyes it's plain to see,
A hero, God has sent to me.
With gentle strength and quiet pride,
All self concern is set aside,
To reach out to our fellow man,
And be there with a helping hand.
Heroes are a rarity,
With all they give and all they do,
I'll bet the thing you never knew,
My quiet hero has always been you.
In memory of you Dad, your daughter Alecea Lott-Hester
PaPa
You would call me kiddo when I saw you,
Patted my head when you stood next to me,
When I needed help with math,
You were the math genius to go to,
You took me to the skate park to practice my skateboarding,
And you had me think twice before doing something,
You took the streets instead of the highway,
You read the newspaper but was still into technology,
You loved chocolate,
However you loved your wife, kids, grandkids, and family in general,
You loved us unconditionally and you were always there for us,
Last time I saw you, you gave me a big hug,
You held my hand to get a feel for the last time,
You told us to take care of each other,
We took pictures to remember your face,
We told you that you finished your race,
And when it’s our time to go, we want you to be one of the faces to take us to the beautiful place.
In memory of you PaPa, your granddaughter Kelly
