Louis Mercuri, 91 years old of Fontana, California, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2011. He was born October 19, 1919, grew up in Philadelphia. He joined the Army Air Corp, shortly after Peal Harbor serving as a cook and baker. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in October 1962, continued to work in the food industry opening "Louis Cafe", catering and wedding cakes. He attended Sunrise Church in Rialto. He was a member of the Masonic #178 and Gate City O.E.S. #212. He also recently received his 50 year service pin from the Masons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, son, Michael, parents, Rosina & Giuseppe Mercuri, sisters, Mary Mercuri and Rose Volzone, brothers, Joseph and Thomas Mercuri. He is survived by his son, Louis J. (Patricia) Mercuri, daughter, Linda Mercuri, grandchildren, Laura, Hannnah and Levi Mercuri, Jared and Kyle Winchell, his sister Angela D'Occhio and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 3rd, 4-8 p.m., at Montecito Laurelwood Chapel and Funeral service on Friday, February 4th, 12:30 p.m., at Montecito Valley View Chapel, both at 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA. Burial followed the funeral service at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Arrangements under the direction of Montecito Mortuary, Colton, California.
