Oh Lelar my favorite fashionista! A woman so so loved. The rock of Gibraltor for the Irvine fam! I adore you. I always so appreciated how you always welcomed me into your family. I had never experienced such acceptance in a world with racism through and through. You turned me on to mimosas- and Ive been sipping on em ever since thinking of you every time (Ole Andre’.) You are a class act, with a heart that I swear could encompass all the children in the world. You spread your love all about. I never heard you speak bad of someone even when you surely could have. I can still hear your voice, spoken with a tad of an accent of distinction and I will always see that golden smile of yours. And that laugh. I will always look forward to hearing it again. I loved our killer breakfasts back in the day and  could always count on some of your yummy cooking.  I thought you were so naturally beautiful and you enjoyed making others pretty too. I was so happy to hear your voice  and see your smile again a few years back.  We always spoke of getting together and starting a business together. I always felt cheered on by you as so many others have as well. You grew an entire empire of loved ones- and were able to live to see kids, grandkids and great grand kids. So cool! You will always be remembered by me as a strong woman, a loving accepting heart with that million dollar smile atop of that boat full of lifes wisdom to share. When I met you- you had a house full of good looking kiddos. And you loved, accepted and encouraged them all equally. A quality  I always appreciated in you. Thanks for being a friend. See you up there cuz Lord knows you made it in! Love to you always and forever.  😇  the warmest angel of all- watching over us all- forever in that cheering section.  I am sad we never did got together like we talked about.  But I know I will see  you before long. Hell Im old! Make her proud ya’ll. Aunt Lelar was the first person to give me my first adult hair style when I was thirteen years old....we lost touch over the last few years but she never left my heart...Laurie Michelle Student Smith...I am her niece now age 56...And her brother in law known to everyone as Uncle John is now age 79
