If ever there was a more caring, sweet guy who walked this earth, it was Mitch. He was always so kind and everyone smiled just to be near him. A Teddy Bear who loved everyone and will be missed so much. These were recent words attributed to Mitch's aunt Beverly.
Kenneth Mitchell 'Mitch' Wieler was born in San Bernardino California on April 18 1956 and went to be with the Lord on March 21 2025. He died due to complications of Diabetes and Pneumonia. Mitch was all about helping and caring for others.
Mitch grew up in Rialto, California and was an avid competitor in youth basketball and baseball. He graduated from Eisenhower High school, in Rialto, where he played forward on the basketball team.
He did have a number of passions including fishing, sports, and music.
Mitch was an avid follower and fan of the New England Patriots and especially Tom Brady. He also was a big fan of the Angels, Lakers, Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Vikings.
Anyone who knew Mitch, knew about his love for fishing. He especially loved deep sea fishing and was known for trips out of San Diego for tuna, local half day boats or just casting a line off of the local pier.
Mitch was crazy about music and love to attend concerts. As someone recently mentioned, that he won more tickets for these concerts than anyone else. He especially loved classic rock like Aerosmith or classic Motown like Smokey or Stevie Wonder.
Mitch was a 'possibility' thinker, always asking ‘what if’ questions or dreaming of a better reality.
Mitch was preceded in heaven by his father, Paul Wieler, who died in April of 2013. He is survived by his mother Arlis Wieler of Redlands, brother Bill Wieler of Long Beach, brother Curt Wieler and wife Vicki of Gilbert, Arizona and sister Teresa Wieler of Yucaipa. He is also survived by several nieces nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Mitch lived in Redlands and attended Redlands Trinity church. He like to follow sports idols but who he really cherished following is Jesus. Mitch was reading daily the devotionals from ‘Jesus Calling’ by Sarah Young. In his last few days, his mother would read these devotionals to him. They center on Living in Jesus Presence. The family is confident he is now also in Jesus’ Presence in heaven.
The family welcomes friends and family members to the funeral service on April 17, 2025 at Montecito Memorial Park, Cypress Chapel, in Loma Linda, California at 1pm. It was Mitch’s desire to be remembered at Montecito where his dad, Paul, was laid to rest in 2013. There are also several members of the family buried here including grandfathers, grandmothers and cousins. The service will be followed by a Remembrance of life at Woody’s Restaurant in Grand Terrace from 2pm to 4pm.
