Jose Manuel Valdez Michel, aged 63, passed away on March 14, 2024.
Born on January 30, 1961, in Tijuana, Mexico to Manuel Diaz Michel and Margarita Valdez. Manuel, affectionately known as "Manolo," was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and sibling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Guadalupe Michel, and is survived by his devoted wife, Vitalina Duran Michel, his children Manuel F. Michel and Adriana Michel, and his grandson Dominic Barajas. Manuel was the eldest among his siblings: Jaime, Esteban, Gabriel, Guillermo, Elodia, Margarita, and Carolina.
Manuel and his brothers, Jaime, Esteban, and Gabriel, fondly referred to each other as "Louie" among their tight-knit group.
Growing up in El Sereno and Highland Park, CA, Manuel attended Wilson and Franklin High School, graduating from Franklin with the Class of 1979. In college, he honed his skills as an Automotive Master Mechanic at L.A. Trade Tech. Then in 1997, Manuel partnered with his cousin Salvador Michel to establish Primo’s Automotive, a thriving auto repair business in Riverside, California. Transitioning to the trucking industry, he later joined CPC Logistics, where he continued his professional journey.
Outside of work, Manuel found joy in cycling and passionately supported the L.A. Dodgers. Known for his kindness and generosity, he was deeply loved by his family and friends, leaving behind cherished memories with all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his extended family, including in-laws, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as his colleagues at CPC Logistics.
In the gentle embrace of memory, Manuel's legacy of love and kindness will forever illuminate our hearts.
