John “Juan” Aguinaga
Sunrise: 12/27/1941 – Sunset: 3/31/2025
We announce the passing of our treasured John Aguinaga whom was called to the gates of Heaven on March 31, 2025 at the age of 83—a devoted husband to Margarita, beloved father to John, Luis, Jose, Jesus, Patricia, and Gerrado, and so deeply adored by his grandchildren.
John was born on December 27, 1941, in Ocampo, Guanajuato, Mexico—a place where his story began, rooted in love and hope. At just 12 years old, he moved to the United States with his parents, Francisco and Maria Aguinaga, in search of a better life. They eventually made their home in South El Monte, California, where John would grow up, find his path, and build a life full of meaning. He attended Valle Lindo School and later graduated with pride from El Monte High School, where he was known as a Lion.
At the age of 23, Juan met Margarita—the love of his life. They married in 1965 and, side by side, built a life full of love, laughter, and the joy of raising six wonderful children. John had then dedicated 40 years of his life in a career he adored so much which was caring for others as a nurse. He began his work at Santa Teresita Hospital, where he served 25 years, and later continued at Greater El Monte Hospital, retiring in 2004 as a proud and respected Licensed Vocational Nurse.
John lived a life filled with kindness, strength, and deep love for those closest to him. He was a man of strong values and a faithful heart, always showing up for his family in the ways that mattered most. Whether he was spending time with his loved ones, watching the Dodgers play, listening to music, bowling, or playing cards, his presence always brought joy and comfort.
He was the heart of our family—our guide, our protector, and the one who reminded us what love truly looks like. He built a foundation of love and togetherness that has shaped and inspired his own Aguinaga branch for generations to come.
He showed us how to live with honesty and purpose, how to find happiness in the little things, and how to love with our whole hearts. His hugs and kisses were unforgettable, his advice always true, and his smile—especially when surrounded by his grandchildren—will live picture-perfect in our memories forever.
Juan Aguinaga leaves behind a legacy full of love, lasting memories, and a family he cared for with all of his heart. He is survived by his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, and is now reunited with those who passed before him, resting in peace. We will miss his singing, his gentle hands, and the way he guided us with quiet strength—but his spirit will continue to live on in everything we do.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 22, 2025, at Epiphany Catholic Church.
