Jim was born on November 30, 1942 in Butte, Montana to Helen Catherine Kane and James Francis Shea. He attended Sacred Heart and Butte Central High. He graduated from Western Montana College with a degree in Business Administration and Physical Education.
He married Carol, the love of his life on January 30, 1965.
Jim is survived by his wife Carol, his four children: Lauri Shea, Pam Lane (John), Kari Ehrlich (Tim) and Tracy Sheard (Mike). Nine grandchildren: Nicole (Nick), Natalie (Josh), Noelle (Barak), Kristin (Angel), Joey (Sarai), Kobe, Heather, Jaiden and Haley. Five great grandchildren: Branden, Liv, Emily, Max and Jolene. His siblings Beverly O’Neill, Peggy Sestrich and Matt Schultz. Two sisters in law: Gloria Secord and Janice Tate. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Mathew and Madison also by his sister Patsy Boyle.
Above everything, Jim loved his family. His favorite times were spent with the large, crazy, wonderful family that he created. This year he was blessed to discover a new addition, his daughter Tracy. He was excited to meet her and in the short time they had, he and Carol welcomed her and her family whole heartedly into the fold of the craziness.
Jim loved crossword puzzles, trivia, Jeopardy, crime shows, ice cream and coffee. He was a voracious reader.
A memorial service is scheduled at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Cypress Chapel, 24145 Barton Road, Loma Linda, CA 92354. Reception will immediately follow.
