After the Air Force he worked in a auto parts store and then for the US Postal Service as a vending machine mechanic. In his personal life, Jim was an avid bowler and entered many tournaments. He was gifted in fixing things, whether it was cars or machinery. He loved to go fishing, camping, and to Polish Festivals with family. He enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends. He was a fierce fan of both the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He will be missed. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name instead to either to Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
