Gloria went to be with our Lord on October 7th, 2021. She was born in San Bernardino, CA., February 27th, 1935 to Felix and Solidad Barrera, her only sister Julie Parker Sullivan, who is now resting in peace. They were raised by their maternal grandmother Cleofas Gomez. Gloria went on to graduate from the class of 1953 and in 1954 met and married her true love Tony. They were married for 61 years before his death on December 5th, 2015. Gloria was a strong believer in her faith, a devoted Catholic and loved the teachings of the Catholic Church.
She decided at the age of 35 to go back to school and pursue her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. She graduated from the University of Lavern with her Master’s in Education and Administration Credentials. She went on to have a prestigious 30-year career in the San Bernardino School District.
She loved every minute of it!
Gloria is Survived by her three children Antoinette, Louis and Anthony Mazzola. Three granddaughters Jamie and Mia Bustillos, Mary Mazzola and one great granddaughter Madilyn Romo, and two nieces Kathy Montes and Jolene Confer.
The family would like to thank Faith Kay Hospice for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time, they were a God sent, God bless you all.
Services:
Rosary will be recited on December 13th, 2021 at 10:30 am and Funeral/Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at 11am at Saint “Kateri” Tekakwitha Beaumont. 1234 Palm Ave, Beaumont, CA 92223.
