Don was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandson Dominic Ambriz.
Don was a strong loving family man to his wife, their three children and many grandchildren. In a crowd, he would sit quietly watching everyone interact. There was never any judgement in his bright blue eyes, only love and acceptance. Then out of the blue he would make a joke to make everyone laugh.
Don quit school at age 15 and worked many odd jobs. He joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Oceanside, CA, where he met his wife, Pam, on a blind date. After leaving the service he and Pam got married and settled in California. He found a job at a machine shop where he learned his trade. With a young family, Don decided to go back to school. He graduated with a GED and went to work for UPS, working in the warehouses at several different hubs. After retirement the Oliver’s moved to Lake Havasu City, where he pursued his great loves, GOLF and BOATING. As Don’s health started to decline, the decision to move to Riverside to be close to family gave them the opportunity to become camp hosts, while living in their motorhome.
