Art Andre Palmer was born April 10, 1964 to George and Catherine Palmer in Quantico, Virginia. He was the youngest of ten children, six boys and four girls, born into a military family. His father served thirty years in the United States Marine Corps.
Art resided in Rialto, California. He graduated from Eisenhower High School and Chaffey Community College. He attended UNLV and received his Bachelor of Arts in communication from USC.
Art's dance career began at the tender age of nine, when he and his brother Marc joined the Judy Norr School of Dance. At the age of 12, he had a lead role in the Nutcracker and Babes in Toy Land. At the age of 13, he received numerous awards and scholarships from dance companies such as the Dancer Theatre of Harlem, The San Francisco Ballet Company and the Boston Ballet Company. He worked for the San Bernardino Registrar of Voters and the Polytechnic University as a choreographer.
Art accepted the Lord as a young child. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to Christian music. His favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart...and he shall direct your paths." Art was a member of the Water of Life Church , Fontana, California.
He was a very outgoing and made friends with everyone. Art described himself as optimistic, determined and caring. His most prized possessions were his family and friends. He took great pleasure in encouraging people to further their education, follow their dreams and in sharing personal knowledge with them.
Preceding him in death were his father and his nephew, Jonathan Brown. Let to cherish his precious memory are his mother Catherine, siblings Katherine Lewis (Ron), George Palmer, Jr. (Rhenmary), Dennis Palmer (Isie), Douglas Palmer (Jo Jo), Patricia Brown, Davey Palmer, Phyllis Palmer (Sam), Sylvia Palmer, March Palmer, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends Michael Jones, Chris Benson, Vanessa Townsell, Shaun and Chevell.
We thank God for the years he gave us with Art. He was a remarkable soul and will be greatly missed. To God be the glory.
