Abel was the son of Frank and Rachel Silva. Frank and Rachel had a total of 5 sons Arthur,
“Tudy”, Robert, Abel, Rene, and Gabriel. Abel is survived by his two children Abel Frank
Silva Jr and his daughter Irene Cruz and grandchildren Cassandra, Torie, Laila and Ava. He
was also blessed to have a wonderful loving fiancé by his side Camillia. Abel was in the
construction field for 30 years specializing in the production of single-family homes. Since
childhood Abel loved the game of Baseball, taking after his brother “Tudy” who held
records at the local baseball field at Ken Hubbs. Abel was known as a homerun hitter and
he himself was a sought-after teammate. Abel was also a winning manager and coach with
multiple league titles in both Little League and Softball with his children and grandchildren.
He liked playing horseshoes, cards & going to parties and just hanging out with friends and
family. With Camillia by his side Abel traveled to see new places like Sedona, Mexico,
Hawaii and several other beautiful places. He was also able to check off a couple bucket
list items which were visiting Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY and seeing the Fall
Foliage in Vermont. He was a great cook. He could make everything from chile verde,
salsa’s, tamales and many other dishes including deserts. His passion was making
menudo. He enjoyed participating in menudo cookouts where he took 6 first place wins. He
was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Abel will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324. A funeral mass will occur Friday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at San Salvador Catholic Church, 169 W. K St, Colton, California 92324. A committal service will occur Friday, January 3, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324.
