Wilma Jean Dew was born December 7, 1933 and passed from this life to the next on May 2, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. As a Colorado native, her passions included fishing in the Colorado Mountains, her beloved dogs, flowers, and most importantly, her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Wilma spent more than 20 years working for Goodwill Industries, where she was loved by all. Her true passion came through as a floral designer, where for 26 years, she touched peoples' lives through her flower arrangements. You knew Christmas was her favorite time of the year as her family gathered in her home every Christmas Eve to celebrate. Wilma had a cheerful outlook on life, her wise counsel and boundless love will be impossible to duplicate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Hazel Dittemore; her sister, Sally Beere, and daughter, Cindy Foster. She is survived by her husband, Ivan Dew; sister, Donna Diets (Jerry); her sons, Jerry Shuman (Carol), Steven Shuman (Terri); her daughters, Eva Bishop,(Dana), Leva Rodacker,(Chuck), Robin Gough,(Rick), Malea Blackburn,(Albert), and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 846 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado at 5:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the Pikes Peak Humane Society, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905.
