Willie D. Armstrong, beloved husband, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Whitharrell, Texas, May 13, 1932 to the late William and Maddie Armstrong.
Willie served in the Army National Reserve from 1952 – 1960. He worked for a concrete block company for a couple of years before going to work at Coco-Cola as a route delivery and sales person until transferring to the parts department where he retired after 42 years of service. Willie was proceeded in death by his first wife, Stella.
Willie and his second wife, Margaret, moved to Colorado Springs nearly five years ago at the behest of her son and daughter-in-law. He fell in love with the mountains and Colorado. He loved Country and Western music, fixing things anywhere he could, and tinkering in his garage.
He leaves behind his second wife of nearly 18 years, Margaret; loving step children Doyle and Nanci McAlister of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Heather Kahl, her husband, Michael and children Mckinzie, Easton, and Jameson; Emily Williams, her husband David and son Logan, all of Colorado Springs and grandson, Uriah Harris of Cedar Park, Texas.
Visitation will take place Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Heart of the Springs Church, 2726 N. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909. A private graveside service will take place in Lubbock, Texas.
