William (Bill) Curtis Winter passed away on July 9, 2024 at the age of 87. He is survived by Kay Elda Adams Winter, his wife of 54 years and two children, Nancy Monsen (husband Kris) of Los Altos, CA and Frederick Winter (wife Katie) of Denver, CO. Bill has three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kevin, and Conner Monsen. He has eight nieces and nephews in the Kansas City region.
He was an Industrial Engineer for the Air Force (civilian) for the majority of his career. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1970 and worked at Ent Air Force Base. He transferred to the Air Force Academy where he was the Director of Industrial Engineering for the Civil Engineering Squadron.
Bill was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop. He also loved spending time driving his motorboat on Pomme de Terre reservoir in Missouri.
Bill was a member First Presbyterian Church since 1975. He was a deacon in Caring Ministries in the early 2000s.
Bill was originally from Missouri and treasured his family ties to Harrisonville, MO. His parents, Frederick William and Christina Mae Winter, as well as his two younger brothers, Edward and Gerald (Jerry), are buried in that community.
