William Michael Tarin, a resident of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022. He had just turned 80 in July, which was a milestone for him. Born at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas to Joseph Walter Tarin and Dorothy Mae Perry. He joined a brother Joseph Walter Tarin.
He graduated from Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas in May 1960. He graduated for National American University, with a BA in Denver, CO in 1988. Prior colleges: San Antonio Jr College, University of Maryland in Germany, Louisiana State University, Anne Arundel Community College.
He joined the Air Force August 8, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas at 19 years old. He followed to Goodfellow, AFB Texas, for more training.
He next served July 1962 in Zweilbrucken, Rhineland-Palatinate,
Germany when he was 20. He was assigned to 6901 Special Communications Group.
He next served July 1964 in Shemya, Alaska, USA when he was 22.
He next served in September 1965 in Barksdale AFB, assigned to Hq 2nd Air Force, Strategic Air Command at 23.
He next served in October 1967 in Peshawar, North West Frontier Pakistan, Pakistan, assigned to the 6937th when he was 25.
He married Elizabeth Ann Scout in Jacksonville, Maryland in February 1, 1969 when he was 26.
He served February 1969 in San Antonio, Texas at Medina AB, San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA.
He next served January 1971 in Karamursel CDI, Turkey when he was 28.
He served at NSA in Fort Meade Md, served at Borfink, Germany with NATO, retired from NSA at Ft Meade, Md after 20 years of service.
William served 20 years in the US Air Force – Air Force Communications Intelligence Analyst, 7 years at Lockheed Missile and Space Corp. Autocad Drafter and Techinical Writer. 1 year at National Security Agency Communications Intelligence Analyst.
William is survived by his wife of 53 years Elizabeth (Libby) Ann Scout Tarin, daughter Dorothy (Beth) Elizabeth Tarin, William Michael (Mike) Tarin Jr and wife Shawna, Joseph (Jody) Clement Tarin (deceased).
Grandchildren, Kyle Michael Lewis, wife Harmony Fawn, Troy Matthew Tarin and partner Alisha Rivard, Tyanna Joanne Ward, Chayse Michael Tarin, Dylan Michael Tarin, and Dalton Clement Tarin. He is survived by seven Great Grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Gary Cole Tarin Vick and wife Carolyn, Joseph Walter Tarin (deceased) and Douglas Rowland Tarin Vick (deceased)
He joined the Church Of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints in October of 1999 in Parker Colorado. He truly loved the church and immersed himself in doing Genealogy and trying to unite his family, honoring his ancesters and doing their Temple work.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, photography, helping his wife garden and his family was his whole world.
Master Sargent William Michael Tarin your tour of duty on this earth has ended.
Service for William M Tarin will be held Thursday, November 3,2022. Visiting with family at 9:30, service at 10:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 4955 Meadowland Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
Final resting place will be in the Clynmalira Church in Phoenix , Maryland at a later date.
