William E. "Bill" Stuckey went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Wetumka, OK, to Johnnie Earl Stuckey and Claudia Joyce (Kirkland) Stuckey in 1935 and was married in 1986 to Linda Stuckey of Colorado Springs, with a previous marriage to F.J. Stuckey of Riverside, TX.
Bill served in the Air Force for 20 years, flying on B36 bombers, operating radar equipment, and as an electronics instructor. During his time in the service, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal and retired with the rank of MSgt. After his military service, he spent many years with ITT Felec Services working in Greenland and Alaska and in the home office in Colorado Springs. He loved the Lord and was a long-time member of The Gideons International serving as a church speaker. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda, and children Nancy E. Phelps of Colorado Springs; William K. Stuckey of Oswego, OR; Steven Burroughs of Riverside, TX; Brenda Hyde of Mukilteo, WA; Christina Britt of Tacoma, WA; and 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, James Stuckey of Wagoner, OK, and Mickey Hill of Holdenville, OK; two sisters, Treva (Joann) Wallace of Arlington, TX, and Judi Hunter of Woodward, OK; and an uncle, Ray Stuckey, of Norman, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Stuckey.
Bill will best be remembered for his sense of humor and fun and his generosity and love of God.
Services will be held at First Southern Baptist Church, 1409 Palmer Park Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO, on October 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, P.O.
