Mr. Everitt was born July 17, 1943, in Lampasas, Texas, to William Burton Everitt and Doris Grace Birchenall Brown McDermott. At the age of four, Mr. Everitt moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Wasson High School in 1961 and attended Pueblo Junior College. In 1962, Mr. Everitt joined the United States Navy and served his country as a submariner cryptography specialist until he was honorably discharged 1966. He married Cheryl Anne Salmon on December 30, 1972, in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado.
After Mr. Everitt’s discharge, he joined Ampex Corporation as an electrical engineer. After a 15-year career with Ampex, Mr. Everitt joined Sony Broadcast as a field service engineer in the broadcast industry. He was instrumental in the introduction of high-definition television to the United States. Mr. Everitt retired from Sony Broadcast in 2008. A lover of the outdoors and photography, Mr. Everitt then became a published wildlife photographer.
Mr. Everitt was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, beloved West Highland White Terrier, Robbie; sisters in-law, Lyn Salmon, Jackie (John) Fletcher, and Debbie (Chris) Salmon; nephews Richard Fletcher (Teresa) and Robert Livesay (Nicole) and niece Amy Ross (Dan), 3 great nieces (McKenzie Fletcher, Lauren Savoy and Mairi Ross) and 2 great nephews (Axel and Milo Livesay).
He loved the outdoors (fishing, camping, hiking, skiing), working on his trees at home, playing with his animals, and travelling with his wife.
A memorial service for Mr. Everitt will be at The Bennett in the Sandhills of Nebraska.
