Ginny was born Virginia Mary Matasek on November 24, 1932 to Elmer and Marion Matasek in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She attended school in Watertown, Wisconsin where she met Chuck Markl.
Ginny loved visiting with neighbors and her friends from many groups and organizations. Once a friend, she kept in contact with them all her life. Getting together and catching up with their lives was one of her many joys. She was in two Red Hat groups, the Retired Officers Wives Club and the Tri-Lake Cruisers. She also had lifelong friends from her 25 years at H&R Block.
Ginny loved to travel and as an Army wife was lucky to live in many US states as well as Taiwan and Germany. Even after Chuck retired they continued to travel to visit friends and their children that lived in different states and foreign countries. For many years they even traveled across the US in a motor home seeing the sites.
