Virginia (Ginger) Ellen Beres (née Guynn), age 82, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022. Ginger was born on August 17, 1940 in Wendel, West Virginia to Carl and Dorothy Guynn. She grew up in Painesville, OH and graduated from Harvey High School in 1958. Ginger had three brothers: Jimmy, David and Billy. She is preceded in death by Jimmy and Billy.
She married the late John Beres Jr. in 1964 and they moved to Colorado Springs in October of 1979. They were married for a beautiful 42 years. Ginger is survived by two children; Mike Beres and Patti (Bert) Loper and two step-children; John (Anna) Beres and Michelle Beres. She is survived by four granddaughters; Ashlee (Jeremy) Boldt, Samantha Beres, Lauryn (Bradley) Wittenbrook and Bella Loper. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Kaylin, Landon, Bennett and Elliott. She was predeceased by her loving husband in 2006.
Ginger was described as "darling and daring", "effervescent", and "more fun than a circus." She was a rare person who never lost her sparkle, spunk or sass. Ginger enjoyed cross-stitch, cooking, baking and laundry. Many family members have fond memories of cooking or sharing a meal with Ginger.
Ginger was the thread that stitched her family together. Her ultimate joy in life was spending time with her family and she would often travel back to Ohio to spend time with her niece, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed traveling and would often come home with wild stories of crazy events that only her and John could get into.
A visitation for Ginger will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Swan Law Mortuary, 501 N Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. The memorial services will be held Friday December 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs at 1515 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO.
