Valerie Jean McNew

Valerie is predeceased by her parents, William E. and Betty J. (Mayberry) Ankrom, her sister and brother-in-law, Donna A. and Thomas F. Elwell.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard H. McNew of 58 years. They were married on May 10, 1963, in Fontainebleau, France.

Valerie is lovingly remembered by her Children, Joy Randolph (Steve Miller), Richard E. McNew, Barbara J. McNew and Amanda (Larry) Shea of Colorado Springs, Joshua D. McNew of Yorktown, Virginia. 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was born on July 8, 1946, in Sanger, California and moved frequently while her father was in the military. It was in France, when both her father and Richard’s brother lived in the same apartment that they met.

Valerie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, counting cross stitch, reading, cooking, baking. She also enjoyed being around her great grandchildren and grandchildren.

A memorial service was done on January 15, 2022, at Cross Creek Church, that was followed by a reception.

Burial services will be on February 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
