She was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota and graduated from Denfeld High School, attended college at Gustavus Adolphus in St Peter, MN, and graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, with a degree in Home Economics. Following an internship in Dietetics at the U. of Minnesota, she was employed as a Dietician at St Lukes Hospital in Duluth, and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis campus.
She resigned formal employment in 1958 while taking on new responsibilities in mothering and homemaking. She was superb in these new opportunities. She was active in Dental Association Auxiliaries and the P.E.O sisterhood in Duluth. She had vision and hearing difficulties for much of her life, which perhaps slowed her down, but did not prevail. She was admired and adored by everyone who had contact with her. She was a lady of charm, dignity, and class.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Warner A. Larson, and Lillian (Polla) Larson, brother Robert Larson, several cherished aunts and uncles, nephew Bobby and niece Sandra Larson, sister-in-law Connie (Morris) Smith, brother-in-law James Smith, and brothers-in-law LeRoy Mattson and John Hursik.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years Mylon, daughters Susan Murphy (Charles) and Linda Sloan (Eric), Grandchildren include C. Ryan Murphy (Mara), Laura Tobias (Ben), Brittany Wamberg (Ben) and Connor Sloan. Great Grandchildren include Patrick and Shea Murphy, Brynn, Elora, Kiah, Rilynn Wamberg. Sister-in-law Marion Larson of Canon City, CO.
Louise loved flowers but preferred any memorials to go to Glaucoma Research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN., 200 First Street SW, 55905 in her honor.
A memorial service will be held at the Pauline Chapel, at noon on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 followed by a reception at the Broadmoor Golf Club.
