Tyree D’Jarell “Bam” Martinez, age 16, passed away on August 16th, 2023. He was born on May 19, 2007 to Jericho and Kimberley (Pounds) Martinez who were in Colorado Springs where he was raised along with his siblings. He was a junior at Sierra High and had attended Harrison School District 2 most of his academic career.
Bam was fond of producing new music, rapping and possessed a lyrical genius beyond his years, e.g. “Bam Bam Bigelow swag so fly, you can find me where the pigeons go.” He also loved lacing them up at Santiago’s Boxing Gym where his coach says Bam never complained. He was a compassionate young man who enjoyed doing things for others such as yard work for elderly and doting on his mother. He learned the value of hard work from his parents and liked working with tools and his hands. He picked up barber skills at home and kept his friends and family looking good. He was considering going to barber school upon graduation. He was extremely family and friend oriented and leaves behind treasured relationships with those in his world.
He is survived by his loving parents and his siblings: Trevon, James, Devonte, Jasiah, D’Mori, Jaciara, Jericho, Jaquarrius, Jantaeya and Jauntrell.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Gylene Martinez, sister Kyana Murray and several other loved ones.
