Tyler was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Throughout her childhood, she displayed an open-hearted, confident spirit that drew others to her. Her intelligence and inquisitiveness fostered a love of animals as well as people, and after graduating from Liberty High School in 2019, she went on to pursue a biology degree with a focus on herpetology and an anthropology minor at Arizona State University in Tempe. She loved volunteering at both the Humane Society and the Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary. She had just begun her senior year at ASU when the accident happened that ultimately took her life.
Tyler will be remembered always for her kindness, sense of humor, intelligence, and dedication to her values and beliefs. The many wonderful people left behind who will love and miss her are a testimony to the impact of her life. A story her mother would like to share shows how Tyler’s kindness and concern for others was always a part of her:
When Tyler was only about four years old, a good friend of mine told me she was moving out of state. One day, Tyler and I were in her room putting toys away when I started crying. She asked me what was wrong, and I told her I was sad because my friend was moving away and I didn’t know when I would see her again. Without hesitation, she came over to where I sat on the floor, wrapped her little arms around my neck, and said, “Don’t be sad, Mommy. I’m here, and I’m your friend.”
