He is survived by his wife, Donna Owens; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua Owens; 4 great-grandchildren, two great-grandsons, Robert and Jeremiah Owens, and 2 great-granddaughters, Briana and Laney Owens all of Colorado Springs, CO, and a sister, Suzanne Anderson also in Colorado Springs, CO.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Edna Owens; son, Robert Lee Owens, who died January 23, 2002; two brothers, Jerry and J.E. Owens, and a sister, Evelyn Andrews from Sacramento, CA.
His occupations were many. He worked in his father's bakery, the Buttercup Bakery, for many years. He worked in construction and as a fry cook. He started working for the Rio Grande Railroad in 1971 as a laborer, and became section foreman here in the Springs and in Fountain, CO for a total of 23 yrs.
He loved riding his motorcycle and camping, fishing and old cars and trucks
