Timothy Paul Bowie, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on August 14th 2023 at 4:00 pm, in San Jose Del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico due to a heart attack. At the time, Timothy Paul Bowie was enjoying a vacation with his family and friends.
The son of Paul Clayton Bowie & Freda Beatrice Kobler, Timothy Paul Bowie was born December 07, 1947 in Amarillo, Texas. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He attended Lubbock High School and continued his education at Texas Tech University achieving a Bachelor of Arts. He continued his education at Colorado Technological University and completed his Master of Science in Computer Science in 1998.
At the age of 19, Timothy enlisted in the United States Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). As part of this service, his MOS was 93H20 Air Tower Operator, he participated in the Vietnam War and received the following medals: Silver Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), Vietnam Campaign Medal (VNCM), Vietnam Service Medal (VNSM), and Army Combat Fitness Test Crew Member (ACFT). Upon returning home, he was assigned to the 125th Air Traffic Control Battalion and received an Article 635-200 Separation code 411 which was an early separation of overseas returnee due to medical reasons. He was honorably discharged on January 23rd, 1973.
Timothy is survived by a wife Mary-France Laura Matthews Bowie and two children; Christian Michael Bowie and wife, Amy Louise O’Connor; daughter, Carrie Michelle Wilson and husband, Clint D. Wilson. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Amber Danielle Shipman, Joshua Vernon Wilson, Shaun Ryan Wilson, Kyle Jacob Koonce, Kaila Jane Koonce, Liam Timothy Bowie, Nora Rose Bowie; and seven great grandchildren. Tim is also survived by his siblings: John Robert Bowie, David Lindsey Bowie, and Diana Paulette Bowie Eshelman. Tim is predeceased by his father, mother, and two brothers; Thomas Ernest Dobry Jr. and Roy Fredrick (Ric) Bowie. His loved ones will remember his strong emotional connections, unwavering commitment, open communication including humor, mutual trust, forgiveness, and growth.
A service honoring the life of Timothy Paul Bowie will be held Saturday, September 02, 2023 at 10:00 am at Swan Law Funeral Home at 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.

A Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Pikes Peak National Cemetery located at 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
