Teresa D Martinez

Teresa Dina Martinez, 89, of Black Forest, Colorado, passed away in her home on November 1, 2017.

She was born in Del Norte, Colorado on September 22, 1928, to Macedonio and Cleofes Lara. She married Max Martinez and they were blessed with two sons, John and Jim, and one daughter, Julie.

Teresa was raised in the beautiful San Luis Valley and graduated from La Jara High School. Her open and friendly personality made her successful in various retail, and banking positions. Teresa also worked as a Sheriff Matron for El Paso County, and later retired from the El Paso County Election Department. She and her husband built a home in the Black Forest, where Teresa enjoyed raising her children, crafting, gardening and entertaining. She was a very caring and fun lady, known to many as a second mother and grandmother.

Teresa is survived by her daughter Julie A. Singer (Jas) of Black Forest, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Martinez and by her sons John A. Martinez and James A. Martinez. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and pets.

Services will be held on November 11th, 2017 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church. 11020 Teachout Rd, Black Forest, Colorado.
