Sylvia was born on January 28, 1933, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Fred and Macie Viebrock. She was a long time resident of Colorado Springs, Calhan, and Rush. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be missed by those who knew her.
Sylvia graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1950. She volunteered with the Tri-County Fire Department for over 20 years and was a member of the Cattlewomen’s Association.
She enjoyed helping her husband farm and ranch, in eastern Colorado for more than 40 years; all while raising her family.
Sylvia is survived by her three children: Larry Back, Connie Phipps, and Steven Back; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter, along with numerous friends.
Visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2018, from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Reception to follow at Church on the Ranch, 3685 Jeannine Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.
