Susan Dawn Penrod

Susan was born October 7, 1968 in Muncie, Indiana to Jack and Jane Penrod. She was the devoted mother of Joshua Pohlmeier and grandmother to Aria Pohlmeier. Susan treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved being a Grandma and was never more deeply contented than in the company of her granddaughter.

Susan was sister to Robin, Daniel, and Matthew Penrod, aunt to Hope and Colte Ross, Jebidiah Penrod, and Gaige, Brayden, and Tristan Penrod. She had a kindhearted personality and always made people around her feel warm and safe.

For over 30 years, Sue specialized in early childhood development and child care. She ran her own child care business for 20 of those years. Parents celebrated the quality teaching and service Susan provided. Children, now grown adults, stayed in contact with her on a regular basis. “Sue’s boy,” or, “Sue’s girl,” would come from her lips in a sing song voice as one of the many ways she showed affection to her students. Colleagues, parents, and students will greatly miss her nurturing spirit.

Family & friends are invited to attend Susan’s memorial service on Saturday, May 7th at 10 AM, at Sunrise United Methodist Church, located at 2655 Briargate Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
