Stanley Martin, 82, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, died peacefully on July 2, 2011 in Co Springs, CO. He was born in Concorde, NH. On December 13, 1928, the fifth of eight children born to Ruth & Benjamin Martin. He and his family moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1941, when he was 13 yrs old.
Stanley served in the US Army from 1947 to 1948. After finishing his military commitment, Stanley returned to NYC, were he worked in the silk screening/printing industry for many years. He was very civic minded, always active in his neighborhood association, of which he was elected president.
Upon his retirement in 1997, he moved to Colorado Springs and worked at both Home Base and Home Depot in the Paint Dept, where he made many friends among his co-workers and customers, due to his gregarious nature. At Home Depot, he especially loved teaching the Saturday morning children's craft workshops; he also volunteered his time and energy to the renovation of the Children's Cancer Center.
Stanley leaves behind three sons, Donald, Richard and Douglas, two stepdaughters, Patricia Hagan and Pamela Moore, three sisters, Ruth, Marion and Lovenia, a brother, Robert, and numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren; he will be deeply missed.
