Sherri is survived by her father Leo Cronenwett, her brother Chris Cronenwett, her sister Lisa Trombley, Sherri’s seven children, and three children in law, whom she counted her children as well: Jessica and Kyle Manzo, Stephen and Michaella Wyss, Evelyn Wyss, Julianna and Nathan Kendall, Joshua Wyss, Angeline Wyss, and Andrew Wyss. Sherri was also excited to welcome her first grandchild, Julianna’s daughter, Ashlyn Rose, who will be joining the family in June.
Sherri’s love of the mountains lead her into long, mountain drives, with children in tow, to a landscape where beauty lived best. Music playing over the radio for every mile.
Songs were the background through every part of Sherri’s life, and she instilled her children with her love of music. Teaching each to sing, and creating a household of music. She directed the musical “Promise U, ”coached Jessica through marching band, and was looking forward to helping Angeline with the guitar lessons.
“I’m so proud of you,” were often the words Sherri spoke, beaming with pleasure at one of her children’s accomplishments. And always a hug before leaving, reminding them of her love.
Sherri encouraged all the arts in her children, applauding loudly at each of Julianna and Evelyn and Angeline’s dance recitals. And listening eagerly to Evelyn’s long-winded storytelling, which would not have started without her mother’s love of books.
Sherri seldom missed an opportunity to stop and smell the books. She also never hesitated to mark up a Bible study, or the Bible itself. Highlighting every important word, and writing up and down the margins. Even though few could read her “hieroglyphic” penmanship.
She shared her love of learning with her children, as well as her depth of studying the Bible. Teaching them to read the Word of God, sing with praise, and pray in the storms of life.
Sherri had her struggles. Misunderstanding some of her more passionate emotions – always the deep feeler. But her hardships are part of what made her who she was, and gave her faith its deep roots. Often she asked why God let pain happen, but she never asked whether God was indeed real, present, and always her Father. She walked a hard path, but with her Polish, God-given stubbornness, she pushed through. And through those trials, she strengthened her children, helping them reach for the deeper things in life, instead of the fleeting moments.
And now, her children would like to send her off to the sweeping halls of Heaven where she will sing with sporadic enthusiasm for all eternity, with the blessing she often spoke or sang over them.
May God bless you and protect you, by the blood of Jesus, from the top of your head to the souls of your feet. May God bless you and protect you through the night and have you good sleepies and dreamies about Jesus and angels.
May God bless you and protect you, keep you safe and happy too.
