Our dearest mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother, Sharon Ann Banbury, has gone into eternal rest on October 8, 2024. She passed in her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado surrounded by family and friends.
Sharon is preceded in death by her precious daughter Sherri Lynn and son Richard Wayne Banbury. She had an aggressive brain tumor that took her life in just 4 short months.
Mom met the love of her life, Richard Banbury, in Barstow California in 1955 at a church function. Mom and dad got married in 1957 and had just celebrated 67 years of marriage. This sparked many happy years of marriage as well as some hard times.
Mom was a nurse from the beginning and lived her days always nursing someone. She retired after 40 years of nursing, but always kept her love and care for folks – especially her family.
Mom was loved by all who met her, due to her kind gentleness and exuberant smile. She had a love for Christ, her family, friends and traveling – especially the ocean where she spent many summers at the beach with her kids and grandkids. Mom also loved reading, quilting and sewing –which she showed by creating special pieces for her great grandchildren.
Her favorite phrase was “There is hope for everyone”. We will continue this on in her memory.
Mom will be greatly missed by all. We will miss her love, advice, kindness, caring heart and perfect smile.
