Sadie Belle Baumdicker, Martinez-Brittain, beloved wife, mother and grandmother of 79 years passed away peacefully on Monday December 3, 2012 in Colorado Springs Colorado. She was born to the late Carl and Mae Baumdicker June 30, 1933 in Buena Vista Colorado at the historical Baumdicker ranch.
She graduated from Buena Vista high school in 1949 and spent her life as a devoted daughter, wife and mother and retired after many years of working as a waitress. She was a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Colorado Springs for over 35 years and gave her time as an event supporter and frequent auxiliary member.
Upon graduating high school, she then moved to Salida where she met her first husband the late Harry Ray Martinez. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1954 and is survived by 4 children; Yolonda Curcio (deceased), Harry Martinez Jr., Cindy Tovrea and Genevieve Steinbock and 2 step-daughters, Harriett Martinez and Theresa Maez. She has 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children. Sadie went on to marry and was widowed from the late Elmer J. Brittain in 1984.
A memorial service will be held at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2pm. A celebration of life reception will follow at 4pm at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #143, located at 1050 S. 21st Street Colorado Springs.
