

Roland Fredette, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord and his wife, Sheila of 44 years, September 4, 2010 after a battle with lung cancer. His courage, strength, and peace throughout this battle was admired by his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all whose lives have been touched by him.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 28, 1942, to Henry and Rita Fredette. Roland went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1960 -1964. His education from the Air Force led him to work in the computer industry as a programmer and troubleshooter until retirement in 2008.
Growing up in New Hampshire, he enjoyed going to the beach with his family, playing baseball and fishing. After moving to Colorado in 1989, he became interested in hiking and golf. He also enjoyed watching MLB and NFL games in person and on television, spending time with family, and yard work.
Roland is survived by his daughters, Alicia Harrelson and Brenda (James) Hanson; sisters, Lucille (Steve) Benoit, Jeanine (Denis) Routhier, Simone (Currie) Morris; brothers, Roger (Judy) Fredette, Andre (Joanne) Fredettte; nephews, Brian, Paul, Mike, and Marc Benoit, Jeff and Jon Routhier, Christopher Morris, Matthew Fredette, and their families; nieces, Carla Mannix, Cynthia Levitin, Susan Morris, Michelle Kearney, Melinda Rishforth, and their families; grandchildren, Ethan, Emily and Olivia Harrelson, Seth and Kara Hanson.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Inurnment will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Lakeside Cemetery, 1525 South 9th Street, Canon City, Colorado 81212.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
