Rodney Arthur Hawk, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away January 10th, 2012. He was born August 11th, 1938, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Wilma and Arthur Hawk. He was the youngest of six children.
Rodney grew up in Los Angeles, California and later moved to Colorado Springs. He also lived in Pueblo, Colorado, and Pampa, Texas before returning to Colorado Springs.
He lived a full and varied life. He was an Army veteran; worked for the Los Angeles Times, the Colorado Springs Gazette, and the City of Colorado Springs; and owned a small business. He was a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed watching football and old Westerns, exploring scenic Colorado and most of all, spending time with his large family.
He will always be remembered by his loving wife, Celia Aurora; daughter Nancy Kimber (Rob); step-children Gladys Bouson, Patsy Arenas (Anthony), Leonard Gomez (Joann), and Frank Gomez (Maria); 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Vesta Ott and Sharon Cash; brother LaVerne Hawk, favorite nephew Mike Hawk; and countless other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 17th at 10:00am at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs
