Bob was a most loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
Born on December 24, 1942 to Janet and Emil Wilfling, Bob grew up in New Jersey where he made many lifelong friends. He was active in Boy Scouts, Boys’ State, high school marksmanship, baseball and basketball. In 1960, Bob graduated from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, New Jersey. In 1964, he graduated from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio where he achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, serving as a Military Policeman from 1965 through 1966 in Europe.
For 29 years, Bob worked as Chief Financial Officer for McGraw Hill while in New York, Kansas City and Colorado Springs.
Bob married Joan Boccella on September 30, 1967. They were happily married for 22 years until Joan’s valiant battle with diabetes took her up to heaven. Many years later, Bob met Linda Schlansker, and their “senior romance” blossomed into marriage a year later. Together, they enjoyed one another’s company, their pets, traveling together, family and friends.
Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Linda Barnes Wilfling of Colorado Springs; loving daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Joe Fitzgibbons of Colorado Springs; son Scott Wilfling and his fiancé Allison Roberts of Bozeman, Montana; step-son Marcus Schlansker of Seattle, Washington; step-daughter and son-in-law Ashley and Shane Stogner of Colorado Springs; and precious grandchildren Bella Wilfling, Ashley Fitzgibbons, Hailey and Brady Stogner; as well as other close family members and friends.
