Bob was born February 21, 1938 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Felix and Cleofitas Urioste. He grew up in Alamosa, CO, where he met his wife, Esther. They married in 1959. Bob worked as a Stationary Engineer at Adams State College, eventually moving to Colorado Springs, CO where he worked and retired from the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind.
Bob was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He honored and enjoyed his family first and foremost. He was a hard-working, proud, gentle man, with technical skills that were beyond approach. He could build or fix any device or machine and was often sought after for his creative solutions to challenging problems. One of his hobbies was refurbishing model A cars. He was an avid lifelong reader, often completing a book per day. He loved watching westerns and playing with his dogs.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Urioste, his daughter Sandy Tsao (husband Hensin Tsao) and his four grandchildren Ben Morris, Madison Morris, Sebastian Tsao and Hunter Tsao; siblings Estella Urioste, Mabel Padilla, Cecilia Urioste and Felix Urioste. He is preceded in passing by his wife Esther Urioste and siblings Toni Garcia, Roy Urioste, Lupe Urioste, Lupita Urioste and Marcella Urioste.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
