GySgt. Robert C. Middleton, USMC (Ret), rested in peace on March 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in La Junta, Colorado, on June 5, 1931, to Robert and Josephine Middleton. He married his wife Fuji, on March 27, 1965, in Camp Lejuene, North Carolina.
During his 22 years of meritorious service, Bob served during the Vietnam War and Korean War. In his free time,
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and meeting up with his friends, all of whom were very special to him.
Bob was preceded in death by his only son, Mark Lyle Middleton and his brother, Ronald Middleton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Fujie Middleton. He is also survived by his sisters, Patsy Mapes and Marilyn Beavin; his nephew, James R. Mapes; and his nieces, Deborah Miller, Cindy Beavin, and Jennifer Gurele.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, March 7. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 8, followed by a graveside service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception celebrating Bob’s life will be held at The Retired Enlisted Association – Chapter 1, 834 Emory Circle at 11:00 am.
