Richard N. Olson (1st. Sgt. Retired) passed away September 21, 2013 at Penrose Hospice Care in Colorado Springs. He was born January 23, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to Clarence and Margaret (Halverson) Olson. The family moved to Black River Falls, Wisconsin in 1946. Richard graduated from High School and then enlisted in the US Army serving 24 years until he retired. He served two Tours of Duty in Vietnam.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and loving wife Gerda; sisters, Dorothy Stalge, Verna Small; and brothers, Clarence Jr. and James.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Olson of Baraboo, Wisconsin; sisters, Barbara (Carl) Knulun of New Lisbon, Wisconsin, Margaret Evans of Yreka, California and Karen McGovern of Oshkosh, West Virginia as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
Richard will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
