Richard was proud 4th generation Colorado native & life long resident of Colorado Springs. He was a retired highly skilled carpenter who built many of the homes in the Springs area. He was known for his optimism and thoroughly enjoyed serving as King of the Elves on the Pikes Peak Santa Train for many years. In the summer you could find him on the banks of a lake fishing or at a baseball game and in the winter, in the mountains hunting or watching the Bronco game.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ward and Blanche (Pinello) Curtis, brother Roy & ex wife and life long friend Patricia Curtis. He was a loving father to Aaron, Lana Degenhart & Darla Douglas & proud Grandpa of McKenzie, Meredith & Garrett. Brother of Ray Curtis & Lois Johnson & too many cousins to mention.
