Ralph Robert Kothe

Ralph Robert Kothe departed this life peacefully on June 27, 2011, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 95. Ralph was born January 27, 1916, in Centerville, South Dakota, and his family later moved to Iowa. On June 9, 1940, Ralph married

Nedra Maxine Stevens at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, and they shared their lives until Nedra passed away in 1995. Ralph and Nedra had one daughter. The family lived in Hampton, Iowa, until 1955, when they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ralph was in the floor covering business for many years and was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, AFL-CIO. He was a charter member of The Highland Park Baptist Church. Ralph became a Master Mason in 1943 in Iowa. He was a sixty-five year member, most recently belonging to Tejon Lodge 104 where he served as chaplain. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Southern Colorado Consistory.

Ralph enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He volunteered at Ecumenical Social Ministries and especially enjoyed family gatherings and playing games. He will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, his

contagious laugh, and his devotion to his family.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Lynnetta Doty (Gerald); three granddaughters:Deborah Doty, Susan Judd (Carl), and Diane Cunfer (Louis); one grandson: Joel Doty (Susan); and five great-grandchildren: Katie and Rachel Riecke, Sydney and Garrett

Cunfer, and Alyson Doty.

A visitation will begin Wednesday July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 3825 Airport Road Colorado Springs, Co 80910 719-596-3842. Funeral Services will begin At 10:30 a.m. Donations may be sent in his memory to Highland Park Baptist Church, 2315 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.

Ralph's family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Wynwood, to the nursing staff in ICU at Memorial Hospital, and to Pikes Peak Hospice for their kindness and dedication
