He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1978. Philip participated in band, student council and was a member of the National Honor Society. He attended Rockmont College in Lakewood, CO, and worked at Sovereign House as a counselor helping people of all ages. His Christian faith has supported him through many health challenges. Family and friends were extremely important to him. Phil loved animals and was a member of 4-H in his youth. Phil was an avid reader, enjoying History, Handyman publications and National Geographic.
Philip is survived by his mother, Sally and sister, Sherri (Trent) Linville. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Black.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 16th at 10:00 AM at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4055 Nonchalant Circle South, Colorado Springs, CO 80917.
