Norma Cusic, 89, passed away on October 17th, 2022 with her sons and friend Virginia, at her bedside. Norma is survived by her two devoted sons, Rod (Cindy) and Bob (late, Rogina), loving grandchildren, Ryan (Christina), Jenna (Marv), Megan, Shannon (Roy), and sweet grandchildren, Jasmine, Levi, and baby Luca on the way.
Norma was preceded in death by husband Melvin, sisters Cherie and Teri Ann and daughter-in-law Rogina.
Norma was born to Neuburn and Grace Tipton and raised in Simla, Colorado where she grew up with her sister Cherie. She attended high school in Simla, Colorado. It was there that she met her high school sweetheart, Melvin Cusic. They married in November following their high school graduation in May of 1950.
After her boys started elementary school, Norma went to work in the Tupperware business to earn extra money for the family. She started as a saleswoman and because of her excellent communication and marketing skills, she was offered a Tupperware distributorship in Fargo, North Dakota in August of 1966. Mel joined her as a partner in this new business endeavor. They were given the opportunity to move back to Colorado Springs in 1974. Mel and Norma were very proud of the success they had in Tupperware and the many friends they made during this journey. They retired in 1985 to spend time with their grandchildren.
Norma enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband, family, and friends. They loved spending time in their ‘pasture’ east of Colorado Springs where they planted numerous trees, had two man made ponds stocked with fish and camped overnight.
Norma was a strong-willed, independent woman with a gift for hospitality and had a wonderful energy that touched the lives of many even as her health declined. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, feeding her ‘backyard’ animal friends and was an avid Bronco fan.
Norma was so proud of her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
