Nancy Jane Fenninger was born February 26th 1931 in Lancaster Pennsylvania to the late Paul Brown and Ruth Reed. Nancy went home to be with our Lord and Savior and her loving husband of 52 years, Gene, on January 30, 2012.
One of Nancy’s greatest joys of her life was the time she spent in Panama, Canal Zone. The wife of a missionary kept her plenty busy socially. She enjoyed antique bottle hunting in the area, loved cooking the local foods, and just living her life in a tropical paradise. Nancy and Gene brought their family to Colorado Springs CO. in 1970 from Panama. Gene became the Vicar at Church of the Holy Spirit in 1973. Nancy enjoyed ministering at The Church of the Holy Spirit, and on road trips to Montana. She ran the church book store, organized, maintained the audio tape ministry, and served as a Chaplain at Penrose Main Hospital. She spent countless hours crocheting afghans, giving them to Aids patients for warmth and comfort. She has left some exquisite needlepoint work and quilts to her children that will forever be treasured.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Eugene K. Fenninger Jr., her parents, Paul and Ruth Brown. Nancy is survived by her brother Donald (Joyce) Killian. Nancy leaves behind to cherish and honor her memory 4 loving children, Deborah Lynn (Larry) Davis, Panama City Florida; Donna Louise (Brian) Manis, Colorado Springs CO; Eugene Kreider (Jennifer) Fenninger III, Colorado Springs CO.; Dianne Layne (James)Sharp, Simla CO.
